Assembly in Silicon Valley: Digital assembly planning meets US market — our journey with the German Accelerator

International expansion, practical market strategies and genuine Silicon Valley energy: Assemblio was part of the renowned German Accelerator U.S. Market Access Program. In Palo Alto, we have gained new impetus for the internationalization of our solution for digital assembly planning and process integration — and in doing so gained valuable experience for scaling in the US market.

German Accelerator — the springboard for entering the US market

The German Accelerator U.S. Market Access Program is an initiative that specifically prepares German tech startups to enter the American market. The focus is on topics such as product positioning, market access, pricing strategies and sales enablement — everything that is needed to successfully establish a technology such as Assemblio in the high-tech and production environment in the USA.

Our highlights

Our stay at Innovation Hub Palo Alto was intensive, practical and extremely valuable. The most important learnings for our market entry:
  • Workshops on high-impact sales & closing big deals: With a focus on negotiation techniques, deal structures and decision dynamics in the U.S. B2B business — essential for our positioning in the Industry 4.0 and Smart Manufacturing environment.
  • Market entry strategies for scalable SaaS solutions: We worked on a clear value proposition for our intelligent assembly sequence planning and analyzed customer needs and pricing structures for the US market.
  • Pitch training: Detailed feedback from Silicon Valley mentors helped us get to the heart of our vision — for customers, partners, and potential investors.

On the move in an innovation network

Assemblio was part of a top-class start-up group that represented the technological innovation potential “Made in Germany”. There were:

  • Digity
  • HypnoBox GmbH
  • LexaTexer — Enterprise AI
  • ScriptRunner
  • SPREAD AI

Together, we were able to represent the German start-up community with digital solutions in areas such as industrial automation, enterprise AI and digital transformation.

What are we taking with us?

The stay in Silicon Valley was a strategic milestone for us. Our most important learnings:

  • Positioning in the US market: We now know how important a clear focus on benefits (“value first”) is — and how to score points with compelling messaging and data-based storytelling.
  • Speed beats perfection: The US market loves proactivity and speed — two qualities that are essential for the right go-to-market strategy.
  • Cultural sensitivity: Sales processes, communication styles and expectations differ from the European market — our strategy is now more targeted, differentiated and more connected.
  • AI & automation are also hot topics in the USA: The talks have confirmed: The demand for digital, intelligent assembly planning with AI components is also high in North America — particularly in the context of multi-variant manufacturing and agile production planning.

What's next?

Our vision remains clear: rethink digital assembly planning — scale internationally.

The USA is a possible next step: with great potential, and a great deal of openness to smart solutions.
