The future of assembly planning: Stuttgart-based software company Assemblio secures 2.1 million euros from well-known investors
Stuttgart, 28.02.2024 — Assemblio offers an AI-based software solution for time and cost efficient assembly planning. Assembly Information Models reduce the planning effort of weeks and months to just a few minutes and thus actively contribute to reducing costs. This has already convinced various major industrial customers, such as Krones and Bosch. As part of the Series Seed, numerous well-known investors are investing.
Following the market launch at the Motek assembly fair in Stuttgart at the end of 2023, the Stuttgart-based start-up Assemblio led by Alexander Neb, Jens Popper, Florian Strieg and Greg Rauhöft has now successfully completed a series seed round. Assemblio secured 2.1 million euros. The lead investor is LEA Partners, Maetch VC, Cross Atlantic Angels, Silver Scale and Integra, as well as other business angels.
The investment community is thus counting on the start of a new era of assembly planning for companies in every sector. The umbrella region alone has over 150,000 manufacturing companies with their own product development. The state of the art has been at the same level for more than 30 years. Companies from the automotive industry, medical technology or mechanical engineering are all facing a major challenge: backward, cost-intensive and manual assembly planning, which requires enormous amounts of personnel and time.
Manual was yesterday — digital and automated is today
This is exactly where Assemblio comes in. With software that helps companies and assembly planners plan their assembly quickly, easily and digitally without having to create documents themselves. By simply dragging and dropping, the product's CAD file is digitally disassembled and assembly plans are automatically created. In doing so, Assemblio brings engineers and the shop floor closer together. The technology itself was developed and tested at Fraunhofer IPA over the years.
The Assembly Composer software tool automatically generates assembly plans in various formats such as PDF or video, as well as interactive 3D step-by-step instructions as an assistant and is already being used by medium-sized industrial companies and large corporations. From manufacturers of packaging systems and machines to industrial technology.
Well-known companies such as Krones and Bosch have already recognized the value and are focusing on future assembly planning with Assemblio.
Mathias Rausch (Head of Module Assembly; Krones AG): “Assemblio offers a pioneering solution for our assembly planning, which helps us achieve our ambitious internationalization goals. ”
The future of assembly planning
With the fresh capital, the Assemblio team plans to expand further and press ahead with product development. The big goal: to simplify, accelerate and cost-efficient assembly processes for companies. “Our focus is on simplicity, and we strive to make enterprise integration as easy as possible. That is why we are doing everything we can with passion and energy to actively shape the future of assembly planning,” says Dr. Alexander Neb, CEO of Assemblio.
Nils Seele, partner at LEA Partners, adds: “The Assemblio product speaks for itself. Generating assembly plans in minutes instead of weeks is a game changer for every manufacturing company. We are so excited to support the team with the mission. ”
Jens Horstmann will join the Advisory Board as the first team addition. With over 35 years of Silicon Valley experience, he sees international potential: “The powerful potential of Assemblio's revolutionary Deep Tech and almost unlimited application options calls for rapid expansion into the US market! Our international team is already working on this and will set important milestones later this year! ”
The Assemblio team is far from complete and the focus is on growth. Assemblio wants to strengthen itself, particularly in development and sales.
